Leftists don’t want safe schools

By Mark Luedtke

I’m sick of thoughts and prayers too. After every mass killing, whether the perpetrator uses knives, poison, bombs, or guns, rulers respond by saying something like “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims.” Leftists politicize mass murders with calls for gun control before the bodies of the victims get cold. But regardless of political persuasion, no ruler responds by saying “We, the rulers who claim to protect the people and use that claim to justify stealing your money in the form of taxes, failed. Again.”

Mass murders prove their claim false. It’s proven over and over again. The number of ways the government failed to protect the victims at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida when a killer staged an attack is outrageous. I’m angry for the victims. The common factor causing these failures is socialism.

The most glaring failure is schools don’t protect students. The government has claimed a monopoly on schools. They’re all socialist. They fail to protect students, and they create monsters like this killer.

Neither students nor parents have a choice in the matter. The government orders parents under threat of violence to send their children to government schools, yet the government fails to provide the most rudimentary security systems to keep students and staff safe.

Mises Institute scholar Ryan McMaken asks the common sense question that should be foremost in everyone’s mind, “Why don’t schools have better security?” McMaken concludes because the threat of a mass killing is low, cost is the major reason schools, hotels, and nightclubs don’t implement better security, but he adds, “The ‘too expensive’ excuse is especially galling since public schools are absolutely laden with non-teaching, administrative personnel unrelated to classroom instruction. As this study shows, since 1970, the student population has increased 8 percent while the non-teacher staff population has increased 130 percent. Gee, where could we ever find the resources for more security personnel?

In a follow-up article, McMaken exposes leftists actively work against improving school security. “Advocates for gun control have actually begun arguing against practical measures addressing school security. Rather than take strategies that can be implemented virtually immediately, and which address the dangers in a specific place in a common-sense way, gun control advocates would rather focus on a political victory at some point in the future and continue to leave schools without proper
security measures.”

Leftists prefer to use students as political pawns to advocate for gun control than protect them. Before you howl, remember leftists murdered around 200 million people last century while propagandists covered up for them. Leftism is an ideology of evil. Making it easier to murder school children so they can be used as political pawns for gun control is nothing compared to the evil they’ve committed and will commit again
if successful.

Then there’s socialist police. The New York Post reports, “Before [the murderer] carried out his mass killing at a Florida high school this week, police responded to his home 39 times over a seven-year period, according to disturbing new documents.”

If ever there was cause to get a surveillance warrant, this was it, yet socialist police failed to do so. Instead, they spent their resources writing speeding tickets and busting down the doors of marijuana users.

Then there’s the socialist FBI. They were notified at least twice the murderer was a threat to attack a school, but they also failed to put him under surveillance. They were too busy running a scam investigation of President Trump to do so.

Participating with NSA and CIA, the FBI spies on every American, but they don’t act when one is about to shoot up a school. They only stop crimes when it benefits them.

As always, this killer was hooked on Big Pharma’s drugs too. Big Pharma is a government-controlled bureaucracy only nominally owned and operated for profit. Big Pharma’s fascism is another form of socialism.

As McMaken explains, these failures are about priorities. Normal Americans prioritize security at schools, many purchasing bulletproof backpacks. Rulers and their enforcers prioritize stealing more money, boosting their budgets, expanding their agencies, lining their pockets, and promoting socialism.

Because socialism is inherently corrupt, reforming it is a fool’s errand. After reform, it’s still as corrupt as before. In order to have a safe, secure, just, and free society, coercive government must be abolished.

As for gun control, it’s a barbaric, decivilizing aggression that promotes might makes right. It empowers Stalins, Maos, Lenins, and Hitlers to murder tens of millions. Hell no.
