Check in on Socialism

It’s as destructive as ever

By Mark Luedtke

The function of  government schools is not to educate children. It’s to subjugate and brainwash them to promote socialism. That’s why, although most Americans consider government schools to be failures, rulers do not. They’re dangerously successful.

Yahoo News reports, “The 31-year-old former Marine [now a Virginia legislator] is part of a growing cadre of Americans, particularly millennials, pledging their allegiance to the Democratic Socialists of America, the nation’s fastest growing leftist group that was originally founded in 1982 as a foothold for Marxists.”

Those are the same Marxists who murdered over 100 million people and enslaved and impoverished half the world last century. If that doesn’t scare you, you’re not paying attention.

Socialism can never work because central planners would need god-like knowledge to make beneficent decisions.

I gathered a few recent stories to evaluate the success of modern socialism.

USA Today reports, “Federal safety investigators found Tuesday that a culture of systemic safety lapses at Amtrak caused a collision between a passenger train and a backhoe that killed two people and injured 39 outside Philadelphia in April 2016.”

Investigators identified 20 lapses in safety that led to the collision.

Socialism supporters often point to municipal water systems as socialist successes. The New York Times, of all propaganda organs, suggests otherwise. “Bursting pipes. Leaks. Public health scares. America is facing a crisis over its crumbling water infrastructure, and fixing it will be a monumental and expensive task,” it writes.

Lead in municipal water is another problem that won’t go away. The Times estimates $300 billion will be spent on pipes in the next decade so you know the price will be higher. Socialist water supply disasters like the recent case in Flint, Michigan will become more frequent.

Socialized medicine is a huge problem around the world as people are forced to wait for months for necessary, even life-saving, procedures. Great Britain implemented a plan to reduce waits. The Telegraph reports, “The NHS [National Health Service] will ban patients from surgery indefinitely unless they lose weight or quit smoking, under controversial plans drawn up in Hertfordshire.”

Killing fat people and smokers is one way to reduce the demand for health care, but only socialists would consider such a plan. Socialism requires the people in power to be monsters. This is why history’s worst murderers including Mao, Stalin, Lenin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Castro, and others rise to the top of socialist governments.

For those of you who agree so far but believe socialist security forces, police, and military are somehow magically beneficial, I have more stories. Fox News reports, “Airport security screeners [TSA] at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport reportedly failed 95 percent of security tests conducted earlier this month – an alarming finding at one of the nation’s busiest airports.”

Nationwide TSA fails 80 percent of the time. Over 400 TSA agents have been arrested since 2003. During the same time TSA caught zero terrorists.

A private security guard stopped the Las Vegas shooter, not police. A private individual stopped the Texas church shooter then recruited another private individual to chase him down and stop him from escaping, not police.

We all remember how well police prevented violence during the Ferguson riots and Charlottesville march.

The Dayton Daily News recently reported, “The Dollar General store on East Stroop Road in Kettering has been robbed by a gunman, the fifth robbery of an area Dollar General store [in six days].”

You can bet local police won’t refund Dollar General’s taxes.

All recent US wars are failures except to war profiteers.

Socialism enables the world’s worst disasters, too. Despite billions spent since Katrina, New Orleans still floods. Its levees are still subpar. Its pumps still don’t work. FEMA still hasn’t rebuilt.

That’s just in the US. Socialism is more advanced in Venezuela. The Daily Mail reports, “The food crisis in Venezuela has forced the population to butcher their pet dogs for meat…”

Schools brainwash students into believing natural resources make America rich, but Venezuela has great oil reserves and Hong Kong has no resources yet Venezuelans are starving while Hong Kong residents enjoy riches. The difference is relatively free markets in Hong Kong and America compared to advanced socialism in Venezuela.

Socialism can never work because central planners would need god-like knowledge to make beneficent decisions. Without prices to guide them, central planners can’t allocate resources benevolently even if they wanted to. So central planners benefit themselves and their cronies at our expense.

The federal Department of Education [DOE] is primarily responsible for this successful brainwashing. That’s reason enough to abolish the DOE and all government schools.
