Straight up holiday fun with a twist of Dayton.” That’s the theme behind Dayton Ballet Association’s 17th annual production of “The Nutcracker.” The show will take place December 10-19 at the Schuster Center. The company has taken the classic holiday story and put a spin on it with the inclusion of Dayton personalities, both current and historical. Several Dayton celebrities will be featured, including Kim Faris, the afternoon host of 99.9 Lite FM; Cathy Ponitz, the executive director of CareSource Foundation; and Mike Hatsock, sports anchor from WHIO TV. Other “Nutcracker”-inspired events include an English Tea at the Dayton Woman’s Club where guests can enjoy desserts, photos with ballet dancers in costume and a silent auction. Following the Saturday matinee performances, Dayton Ballet will also feature a “Behind the Magic” backstage tour, beginning at 4:30 p.m. for $10 per person.

For tickets to any of these “Nutcracker” events, call (937) 228-3630 or (888) 228-3630 or visit www.ticketcenterstage.com.
