D ayton Beer Week
Beer Pride Parade
With Dayton AleFest returning for its 13th annual incarnation this year, festival organizer Joe Waizmann and various local taverns, restaurants and distributors are teaming up to take the event to a new level with the first Dayton Beer Week. On
Sunday, August 22 at 4:30 p.m., Dayton Beer Week will kick-off with the Beer Pride Parade, which begins in the Thai 9 parking lot. Mayor Gary Leitzell and Waizmann will lead revelers
on a four-block stroll through the Oregon Historic District. The procession will feature
Carillon Historical Park’s Model-T draught truck and Thai 9 proprietor Rob Strong in his VW Van w/Nimrod Camper. After the parade, there will be a special beer tapping and opening ceremonies held at Thai 9. Throughout the week of August 22 leading up to AleFest on Saturday, August 28, there will be a number of beer-related events
featuring some of the premier craft breweries held at various locations throughout the Miami Valley. For more information relating to these events, visit online at www.AleFest.com.
