There has long been an inextricable link between skateboarding and punk rock and this bond will be celebrated Saturday, September 4 at the Dayton Skate Punk Fest held at Polish Picnic Grounds, 3690 Needmore Rd. Presented by Punx in Space Productions, One Love Skate Shop and The Punk & Punk Rock Show on WWSU 106.9 FM, the event brings together the OneLove Pro Skate Team (which includes Dustin Deevers, shown) with local acts Astro Fang, Dan Raridan & the Calientes, Dirty Socialites and the Scratchmatik DJ crew. All proceeds from the event go toward St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The Dayton Skate Punk Fest runs from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m. Advance tickets are available for $10; $15 at the gate. For ticket information, visit OneLove Skateshop, 1851 E. Stroop Rd., or call (937) 299-0145.
