Looking for an out-of-town New Year’s Eve party? Celebrate on High Street in Columbus and catch a special ekoostik hookah show with Freekbass and Tobotius at Newport Music Hall. Known for their biannual “Hookahville” festivals, ekoostik hookah has developed a Phish-like following since forming in Columbus back in 1991, touring internationally and selling well over 100,000 copies of their eight officially-released albums. Opening act Freekbass is a six-time Cincinnati Entertainment Award winner, and his groundbreaking mix of funk, electronic music and R&B was recently featured in “Relix Magazine.” He will perform with internationally known DJ and producer Tobotius, who has also worked with Bootsy Collins, the guitarist Buckethead and drummer Brain.
