The Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival, Aug 21-22 in Community Park East, will be the
Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival
29th annual fundraising event by the Fairborn Art Association and the Fairborn Lions Club. Featuring 170 booths of handmade arts and crafts, the proceeds support the groups’ programs, charities and scholarships. Kids can enjoy The Big Bounce, train, and pony rides all weekend. On Saturday an AVA Volksmarch starts at 8 a.m. and the Dayton Dragon’s mascot Heater will visit. Live music and entertainment rounds out the roster including the Fairborn Civic Band, Happy Valley Ramblers, and others; plus a variety of dance exhibitions. Reigning as king and queen will be Bob Carico, a member of the Fairborn Board of Education, and Linda Riffle, owner of United Inc. Realtors Community Park East is at 691 E Yellow Springs Rd near Fairborn High School. Hours are Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
