In NY, they are targeting politicians who vote against equality. I'm sure there would be more than enough support to do this to Harris. We just need to be more pro-active and organized about such matters.

The state of GLBT equality in Ohio is deplorable. Many people assume that the only issue facing gays and lesbians is marriage equality, but the reality is that we can be discriminated against in so many other ways. We have a long way to go. Thank you for writing about this important issue.

First I would like to congratulate Mr.Andrew, and Eric Shade on your union, you are an inspiration to us all!My only concern about this article is that, once again Ohio's shortcomings is more newsworthy than our triumps!
In this article Ohio is made out to be the leader in not supporting gay marriage.I personally think that gay's leaving Ohio isn't just a Marriage issue, I think that it is called a recession! That is an extremely predicatble expectation! This situation is not any different that any other state that limits Marriage! Here in Dayton Ohio our MVFH Miami Valley Fair Housing has put Dayton on the map, as far as fighting for discrimination, and Joe Lacey a long time politician of Dayton Ohio has been able to adopt children.Because these triumps aren't commercial hits, we are declared an unfit state. That lack of unity is not going to make gay marriage happen any sooner, just more easy publicity!I was born during the Martin Luther King era, and back then people use to fight for their back yard first!I am asking all of the Ohio Gay couples to show our USA that we will stay, and fight for marriage in our back yards, because in spite of what you believe if we can elect an African American President we have a chance at Marriage like the rest of this country!

Sincerely Ms.Demure

First I would like to congratulate Mr.Andrew, and Eric Shade on their union, your an inspiration to us all.I believe that gay people leaving Ohio is as universal as all of the other states that is fighting to be apart of this movement! The part of the article that talks about the discrimination, and housing issues, in a perfect world that would be a non issue for every city in a state. The world, as well as the gay marriage movement has as many pos,and neg area's as well as grey area's.I believe that Ohio's history will alway's keep people predictable expectations alive, it's human nature! Here in Dayton Ohio some of the exceptions to the rule, is that our Miami Valley Fair Housing mvfh has continually put Dayton Ohio in the forefront of an open accepting community.Joe Lacey one of our long running politician has, open the door on gay parenting in Ohio.

I would like to see more gay couples here in Ohio come forth, and show the USA that if we are loyal to our state, and did help elect our first African American President. We know that we can stay here and work at making gay marriage a reality in our near future! Our shortcomings here in Ohio are being overshadowing by all of the examples that i just mentioned, because those shortcomings are easy commercial publicity.I'm sorry, and I understand why the shades had to leave, but there is a side of me like my African American inspiration Martin Luther king did, was to stay, and reclaim your back yard!
