Dayton Regional Science Festival

The Boonshoft Museum provides hands-on STEM activities, interacting with partners and Museum professionals, and more at a FREE day of science and fun. Guests can also explore the STEM Expo from 10am-3pm in the Main Exhibit Hall! This event is FREE to the public.

One Stop Holiday Shop at Aullwood  

Aullwood’s One-Stop Holiday Shop is on Saturday from 9am to 5pm at the Marie S. Aull Education Center! This second annual free admission brings dozens of local museum stores, nonprofit organizations, vendors, crafters, and artisans together. Shop for handmade jewelry, museum treasures, homemade jams, photography, pottery, baskets, soaps, and much more! The Aullwood Café will serve soup, sandwiches and other goodies.

Waffle Shop

Homemade waffles, sausages, soups and sandwiches; crafts and white elephant sale; baked goods, and smiles all around. Proceeds from the event benefit people throughout the community. Plan to come and bring a friend along with your appetite. Meet old friends and make new ones. Tuesday through Friday, 11am to 2pm daily at Christ Episcopal Church, 20 West First Street, Dayton.

Flyers In The Finals

Fifty years ago, the University of Dayton Flyers, an unranked Cinderella team, won four heart-pounding victories to propel themselves into the finals of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. They faced John Wooden’s UCLA Bruins led by Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul Jabbar). Join in on the excitement of “Flyers in the Finals” on Sunday, November 19th at 2pm at Wright Library, 1776 Far Hills Ave. This is free and open to the public.

Holiday Gift Gallery

The Dayton Visual Arts Center (DVAC) is opening November 17th and running through December 23rd. This annual event transforms the downtown Dayton gallery into an all-art, all-original, all-local gift gallery where guests can shop from hundreds of unique items created by 55 Miami Valley artists. It is a fun way to support the artists in our community and check off a shopping list with truly one of-a-kind gifts.

Ringing in the Holidays

For 23 years, the magic of the holiday season has come alive at Carillon Historical Park. The Ringing in the Holidays celebration features: Dayton’s Most Delightful Dessert Contest, Live Music, Gourmet Hors D’oeuvres, Specialty Cocktails, Open Bar, Silent Auction, Winter Getaway Raffle. This will be also celebrating Deeds Carillon and the beautiful music created over the past 75 years. Saturday, November 18, 6:30-10:00pm.

New Public Art Honors Public Servants

A new, 12,000-pound sculpture installed at Cooper Park downtown seeks to recognize and honor the contributions of everyday public servants, including those who teach children, fight fires, pave roads, combat crime, mow grass and protect and serve the public in myriad other ways.

Charlie Campbell is a cheerleader of the greater Dayton area. His efforts are to inform more and more of what is going on. He tells people he is not retired but he is, “….redeployed. Now I am doing what I want to do not what I gotta do….and I want people know how wonderful Dayton is!” Weekly he e-mails a newsletter – It’s Great In Dayton – to 5,000 of his “best friends;” and is now spreading the good-news in the DCP.
