Peotry – Veronica

Veronica

Her delicate purple flowers

Gaze into my eyes.

I mark the hours

As Helios’ chariot flies.

Veronica’s lovely eyes close.

For dusk overtakes

As the moon bull lows.

I must leave her till dawn breaks.

How intimate was it to share

The tender embrace

Of my love so fair

As sleep overtook your soft face.

For tonight I will sadly dream

Of those lovely eyes

Opening for me

As the sun begins to rise.
