Santarchy started back in 1994 when several dozen Cheap Santa Suits paid a visit to downtown San Francisco for a night of Kringle Kaos. Every December for the last 17 years, Santas have been visiting cities around the world, engaging in a bit of Santarchy as part of the annual Santacon events. For the second year in a row, Santa’s coming to Dayton. This year, the festivities will commence at 4 p.m. on Dec. 18 at a place still to be determined. Go to www.santarchydayton.com to sign up to get the text messages telling everyone where to meet and where to go next. The rules for Santarchy are simple: You must dress like Santa. You should Ho-Ho-Ho like Santa. You ought to give out gifts like Santa (naughty for the adults, nice for the kids). And you gotta drink like Santa. And remember, Santa is the answer for all questions. When asked who’s in charge? Answer: Santa. Why are you doing this? Santa told us to have fun! Where’s the next stop? Only Santa knows…
